.36 Caliber, Percussion Colt Revolving Rifle. Serial number #289, all matching. Brilliant rifle with 75-85% brilliant blue on the frame. Barrel was lacquer browned and retains a like amount of this original finish under a darkened plum patina. A light cleaning would bring would bring this back to near perfect. Cleaning rod and oiler retain at least 75-85% original bright blue. Cylinder is graying but retains a strong 90% scene of deer being chased by dogs and a strong "Colts Patent/Sporting Rifles" in two bars the length of the cylinder. Excellent bore and chambers. Perfect mechanics. Barrel tang has a armorial crest of a Eagle over a Bar and the inscription "FC from MEC/CRC/HC". Stock is beautiful and retains 90% plus original factory varnish. Colt Factory case has the original instruction sheet glued in the lid. It retains the brass powder flask, bullet mold, pewter oil bottle, combination tool, two tins of caps and tin of wax ball lubricant. Case also has three rare original waxed .36 ball cartridges. Beautiful Colt Rifle.
