CIVIL WAR SPENCER US MODEL 1860 CAVALRY CARBINE

.52 Caliber Rimfire, Repeating Breechloading US Cavalry Carbine. SN# 31882. Barrel is a mixture of deep smooth blackish patina and 20-25% original blue. Very Clear Spencer Markings on top of receiver. Receiver actually has bands of case color hardening mixed with a handsome dove gray patina. Lock, lever and buttplate are blued and this appears to be the original finish. Good bore, Excellent mechanics. Sling ring and bar on left. Loading tube and spring are perfect. Excellent oil finished stock and forend. Inspector's initials "C.G.C." are stamped just forward of the buttplate tang. The stock is new enough to state that there never were insoectors cartouches on the flat. "C.G.C. are also the initials found on the Military Henry Rifles. Very handsome Spencer Carbine.
