SCARCE CONFEDERATE CAVALRY LANCE OR GUIDON

108 Inches overall with a flat iron, shouldered 10 inch lance blade. Blade fits down thru an iron ferrule and round guard into a slot 10 inches into the haft. 10 Inch iron strap langets on either side of the blade shaft riveted thru haft and blade tang. 1 1/4 Inch Hickory Haft ends in a 1 inch pointed iron grounding iron. Certainly meant as a lance this would have done double duty as a guidon. Very fine, untouched condition. The middle of the haft is inlet for a carrying strap, 44 inches up from the bottom. Neat piece.
