.71 caliber. German military percussion conversion musket. Manufactured 1831 dated on buttplate and barrel. Very good condition overall. Barrel is a pleasing plum brown patina with crisp dates and proofs on left breech. Moderate salt and pepper pitting around the bolster. Slight burnout in the wood behind the bolster. Otherwise the musket would rate fine. Bright smooth lock. Fine brass furniture. Correct sling swivel and ramrod. German regimental marks on the butt. Fine oil finished stock with several German proofs. Fairly smooth bore and strong mechanics.
