NAMED J. HENRY U.S. MODEL 1808 FLINTLOCK MUSKET

.69 caliber smoothbore U.S. Military musket still in original flintlock configuration. 44 ½ inch round barrel with sunken oval containing Eagle/CT and V proofs. Original flintlock is 6 ½ inches with very sharp J. Henry Phila to rear of hammer and Eagle/large US. Barrel, lock, and furniture are all a deep plum patina, but a light cleaning would not hurt it. I call this one true attic condition. Right cheek of butt is carved in half inch letter L.W. Carr/June 26/1815. Good solid stock. Roman numeral at left flat VIII. Missing sling swivels. Has ancient replacement military ramrod. Good mechanics. Smoothbore. One of the rare U.S. Military contractors with only 4,500 delivered. It would be fun to look up Mr. Carr and his service record.
