CASED COLT HARTFORD MODEL 1849 6" BARRELED POCKET REVOLVER

Here is a Colt Hartford Model 1849 Pocket Revolver in .31 Caliber. It is a cased set with flask, bullet mold, nipple wrench/screwdriver, and tin of percussion caps. This is a six inch barreled revolver produced in 1863. It has a scarce six shot cylinder. The pistol has little finish left. The frame, barrel, and cylinder are a steel gray. The brass trigger guard and back strap have traces of their original silver plating remaining. The mechanics work very well. The bore has some pitting, but visible rifling throughout. The grips show some wear and a couple of small dings from use. About 50% of the factory varnish remains. The flask is quite nice with a rich dark bronze patina. The iron bullet mold has some pitting and a dark steel gray patina. The wrench is excellent and the London tin of caps is nicely labeled. This is a nice set that displays well.
