Description :
Known as the "Gun That Won The West", this is an original, Winchester Model 1873 Rifle chambered for the .38-40 cartridge. It was made in 1885. This rifle has a factory, half length magazine tube, with a 24" barrel. It is in good condition. There is no finish remaining. The rifle has a dark brown patina overall. There is some significant pitting on the left side of the receiver. The action works well. The bore is dark and the rifling nearly gone. The stock is very good, with a few dings from use. This is a salty old veteran of the Old West. Stock no. 20741
