ARGENTINE MODEL 1879 REMINGTON ROLLING BLOCK RIFLE
Description :
Here is an original Remington Rolling Block Rifle made for the Argentine Government. These rifles were adopted by Argentina in 1879 and chambered for the .43 Spanish cartridge. When Argentina adopted the Mauser in 1891, these rifles were re-conditioned and offered for sale on the surplus market. They were re-blued at this time. This rifle is in very fine re-conditioned condition. It retains almost 98% of its blued finish. There are a few very light speckles of corrosion on the flats of the barrel at the breech and between the first and middle barrel bands. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock has a couple of tiny dings from use. The Argentine Rolling Block has the best rear sight of any of the various other rolling blocks. It is quite similar to the Werndl sight and much favored by black powder cartridge shooters. This should be another great shooting rifle. Stock no. 21066
