SUPERB, WWII, U.S. SMITH-CORONA MODEL 1903A3 RIFLE
Description :
This is an original, WWII, U.S. Model 1903A3 Rifle manufactured by Smith-Corona in late 1943 and chambered for the .30-06 Government Cartridge. The M1903A3 was the last production variant of the venerable Model 1903 Springfield. It was distinguished by its simplified construction and the use of stamped rather than machined parts. This rifle is in excellent, near new condition. It retains nearly 100% of its factory parkerized and blued finish. There are some small scratches on the blued forward barrel band. There is a bit of wear on the left edge of the trigger guard. The mechanics are excellent and the rifle has a mint bore. The stock has a couple of very small dings from storage, but is overall excellent. There is a crisp "FJA" cartouche and crossed cannon ordnance marking on the left side of the stock and a "P" proof just behind the trigger guard. The rifle includes an excellent, WWII, U.S. M1 web sling that is maker marked and dated "1944". There is an original, late WWII plastic oiler and pull through cleaner in the butt trap. This is a suberb U.S. Model 1903A3 rifle. It would be hard to find one in better condition. Stock no. 21104
