Item :	FINE, WWII, GERMAN MAUSER K98K 8MM RIFLE

Description :

This is an original, WWII, German K98k Rifle produced by Mauser (byf coded) in 1944. It is chambered for the 7.92x57mm cartridge (8mm Mauser). The K98k was the standard German Battle Rifle of the Second World War. This rifle has matching parts throughout, with the exception of the barrel. The barrel does not have a number in the usual place on the left side. It has a number that goes around the barrel. I do not know if this is a serial number, but it does not match the rest of the parts. The barrel does have a crisp Waffenamt on the left side of the barrel that matches the one on the receiver. The rifle is in fine condition with more than 90% of its factory blued finish remaining. There is a bit of wear on the trigger guard. The bolt assembly is blued, with the extractor having a distinct reddish coloration. The butt plate is finished in the bright and has a fine speckling of light patina. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is in fine condition with just a few light dings and scratches from use. Please note that the stock was cut under the front band to fit in a soldier's duffel bag, and this has been repaired. The stock is not numbered. The included sling is a high quality reproduction. This is a very nice example of a WWII Mauser. Stock no. 21348
