RESTORED, WWII, UNDERWOOD U.S. M-1 CARBINE

This is a WWII, U.S. M-1 Carbine manufactured by Underwood. It has undergone some restoration work to bring it closer to its original WWII configuration. The sight has been replaced with the earlier "flip" type sight. The bayonet mount (If it had one) has been removed and replaced with a Type 2 (wide) barrel band. The high wood stock and 2 rivet hand guard have been sanded and cleaned. No markings remain on the stock. The barrel is Underwood made and dated "3-44". The carbine retains more than 90% of its parkerized finish. The mechanics are excellent. The barrel has a brilliant bore in excellent condition. The stock now has a smooth, light brown color. There are a few small dents just behind the tang of the receiver that remain dark brown where the sand paper could not reach. Included is a WWII magazine and a post war sling. Stock no. 21344
