Item :	1941 DATED MAUSER P.08 "BLACK WIDOW" LUGER PISTOL W/ HOLSTER

Here is an original, WWII P.08 Luger 9mm Pistol manufactured by Mauser (byf code) in 1941. This is the variant with black Bakelite grips that has come to be known as the "Black Widow". The pistol is all matching, except for the magazine. Two magazines are included. One is an original, WWII magazine with an aluminum plug. This magazine is numbered, but not to the gun. The other magazine is an Italian copy of the original magazine issued with the "Black Widow". The original magazines had a black plastic plug and were not numbered. The pistol is in very good to fine condition. It retains about 80-85% of its original factory blued finish. There is light wear on the high points of the gun. There is a bit of holster wear at the muzzle, forward areas of the frame, and on the side plate. There are a few tiny pits on the side plate and on the highest point of the right side of the frame. There is a larger spot on the left side of the frame, just ahead of the "P.08" marking. It is about the size of a BB. The mechanics are excellent and the pistol has a very fine bore. The black plastic "Bakelite" grips are in excellent condition with no chips or cracks. The holster is original to the gun. There is a paper label glued to the flap with the name of the soldier who captured it. The name is hard to read but appears to be "Bertram Durand". The holster is actually of WWI vintage, nicely marked and dated 1915. It was made by "J.M. Eckart" of Ulm/Donau, Germany. Condition wise, the holster is a little rough, with a number of scratches and abrasions. One belt loop is missing and the other is attached at one end only. The bottom of the magazine pocket is worn. This is a nice '41 Black Widow Luger. Stock no. 21533
