FINE, ALL MATCHING DWM COMMERCIAL P.08 LUGER

Description :
This is an original, German P.08 Luger 9mm pistol manufactured by Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) in the 1920's. It is a Model 1920 Commercial DWM made for commercial sale. Commercial models had fewer numbered parts than their military counterparts, but the parts that are numbered ( barrel, frame, and side plate ) are matching. The numbered, WWI era, wood plug magazine does not match the gun. This pistol is in fine condition with about 95% of its factory blued finish remaining. There is some minor holster wear at the muzzle, front edge of the slide, and on the high point of the side plate. The take down lever, sear spring, and trigger retain about 90% of their straw color. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The grips are fine, but there is a letter "K" scratched into the checkering on the top of the left grip panel. There are a couple of tiny dings and a small dent in the checkering on the right panel. The grips are not numbered, having stamped letters instead. The interior of the right grip panel is stamped with the letter "c" and the left with "d" and "e". I do not know the significance of these markings. The magazine is a standard WWI military example. It has an overall speckling of brown patina. This is a very fine example of P.08 production between the World Wars. Stock no. 18752
