Item :	FINE SMITH AND WESSON .44 HAND EJECTOR MODEL OF 1926 IN A FACTORY BOX

Description :

Introduced in 1926 as a special revolver made exclusively for a Texas Distributor named Wolf and Klar and distributed by them only until 1936, in 1937 S&W announced they were selling them in the .44 S&W Special Cartridge. Production was halted temporarily in 1942 for the War Effort but resumed in 1946 until 1950. This 4 year block of revolvers is denoted by a "S" prefix SN# which this example has, "S 63754". This fine revolver has a 5 inch barrel and diamond checkered silver medallion grips. The piece retains 95% of its bright factory blue with slight wear at the muzzle and face of the cylinder. Excellent bore and mechanics. Hammer and trigger retain 70-80% vivid case color hardening. This revolver comes with an original S&W factory letter stating this revolver was shipped from the factory to a hardware store in Hazard, KY. in 1947. Revolver also comes with a fine gold and blue Smith and Wesson Factory Box which is correct for this piece but not numbered in any way. C&R or FFL required. 22356
