Here is a Winchester Model 1894 Rifle manufactured in 1907 and chambered for the desirable .38-55 cartridge. This rifle has a 24" octagonal barrel and crescent butt plate. This rifle is in fine condition. It retains about 80% of its factory blued finish. The blue is turning to a plum color on the barrel, receiver, and nose cap. There is light overall wear on the high points of the gun. The rifle has excellent mechanics. The bore is a little dark and lightly frosted, but there is visible rifling along its length. The stock is very good with the usual small dings and scratches associated with a 110 year old rifle. The rear sight is a Winchester sight, but with a '27 patent date, so was almost certainly replaced. The Model 1894 is the world's most popular sporting rifle and the early examples are particularly well made. Stock no. 23219
