PRE-'64 WINCHESTER MODEL 70, .30-06, UNERTL SCOPE

This is a Winchester Model 70 Bolt Action Rifle made in 1954 and chambered for the .30-06 cartridge. It has a 24" barrel and has been fitted with a J. Unertl "HAWK" 4X telescopic sight on a Redfield mount. The rifle is in very fine condition with about 98% of its factory blued finish remaining. There is a little finish wear on the bolt knob. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock has born the brunt of this rifle's usage. It is in fine condition, but has been fitted with a Pachmayr rubber butt pad. There are a number of small dings and scratches from use in the field. There are several blemishes in the varnish finish especially on the right side of the butt along the butt pad. The edge of the pistol grip cap is worn to the exposed wood and there is a small chip on this edge. The scope is in fine condition with good clear optics and very fine crosshairs. There are some tiny scratches in the finish on the right side and a significant dent on the top of the scope tube behind the front lens. This is a great Pre-'64 Winchester Model 70 with a period Unertl scope. Stock no. 23237
