1902 COLT SINGLE ACTION ARMY .45 REVOLVER
Description :
This is a Colt Single Action Army Revolver manufactured in 1902 and chambered for the .45 Long Colt cartridge. Supposedly, this revolver was sent back to Colt in 1959, where the chambering was changed, a new cylinder and barrel were fitted, and the gun was factory refinished. I do not know the original chambering and can't verify the story. The lettering on the barrel is crisp. The case colors on the frame do not look like Colt factory colors to me, but I don't know what techniques they employed in 1959. The gun is in very fine condition, retaining more than 95% of its newer finish. There is some light holster wear on the muzzle of the barrel, end of the ejector housing, and front of the cylinder. The revolver has excellent mechanics and a fine bore. The black hard rubber grips are in fine condition, but the raised ring around the grip screw on the left grip has chipped away. About half of it has chipped. This is a good looking 1st Generation, early smokeless powder Single Action Colt. Stock no. 23429
