PERCUSSION CONVERSION OF 1803 HARPERS FERRY RIFLE

Model 1803 Muzzle Loading Rifle manufactured in 1814 at the Harpers Ferry Armory. Converted to percussion via the drum bolster system. Probably at that tine the barrel was "freshed out" to about .72 caliber with straight rifling. 36 Inch barrel. Lock and around the bolster have seen much use and are pitted. Rest of the barrel is smooth with a fine plum patina. Rail under the barrel with a museum quality brass tipped ram rod. Deep golden patina on butt plate, trigger guard, and distinctive patch box. Very good oil finished stock with clear outline of the original cartouche. Historic American Military Arm.
