Item : BEAUTIFUL PEDERSOLI REPLICA MODEL 1854 LORENZ RIFLE W/ MOLD, LIKE NEW
Description :
This is a excellent reproduction of the Model 1854 Lorenz Rifle made by Pedersoli in 2018. It has a very low serial number. As both the North and the South struggled to equip their rapidly growing armies in the opening days of the Civil War, the nations of Europe emptied their arsenals, disposing of as many obsolete arms as possible. One of the arms obtained by both sides was the Model 1854 Lorenz Rifle. It was a rugged and dependable arm, of better quality than many of the other types acquired. The rifles imported by the North generally differed from those acquired by the South. They did not have cheek rests, often had adjustable rear sights, and were generally bored out and rifled to accept standard .58 caliber Minie Ball ammunition. The South's rifles were simpler, and this rifle is a quintessential example of a Confederate import. It has a cheekrest and remains in .54 caliber. The VMI cadets were carrying Lorenz rifles when they made their famous charge at New Market. This rifle is unfired, in immaculate, like new condition. It remains 100% armory bright with a perfect bore and excellent mechanics. The stock is excellent as well with one very tiny ding from storage. Included is a Pedersoli mold for for the .547 Lorenz Minie bullet. It is also in like new condition and a hard-to-find item. This rifle is perfect for a reenactor or for shooting in the NSSA shoots. Stock no. 30157
