AS-BUILT, WWII SPRINGFIELD U.S. M-1 GARAND, .30-06, 1945 MFG.

This is an original, WWII, U.S. M-1 Rifle manufactured by Springfield Armory in April of 1945. The M-1 was the standard battle rifle of American forces in WWII. This rifle is in very good condition with about 80% of its parkerized finish remaining. There is some finish wear on the high points of the gun. There is a bit more wear on the barrel behind the front sight. The butt plate is developing a brown patina. There is some wear on the top of the bolt. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The stock is very good with a scattering of small dings and scratches from use. There is a crisp inspector's cartouche ("S.A." over "N.F.R.") with the ordnance wheel on the left side of the wrist. There is a "P" firing proof on the grip and a tiny Ordnance Wheel on the grip cap. The gun appears to have its correct, as-built parts with an uncut operating rod. This is a nice correct M-1 Garand.
