This is a pair of M1900 American Eagle Lugers manufactured by Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) of Berlin. These pistols have consecutive serial numbers. They are chambered for the 7.65mm Parabellum (.30 Luger) cartridge. The American Eagle crest is stamped on the receiver top at the breech. The United States government purchased 1000 of these pistols for evaluation. These test Lugers fell in the serial number range of 6,009 to 7,500. This pair of Commercial American Eagles are just a bit more than 200 guns later. These M1900 original design pistols are distinguished by their dished toggle grips, grip safeties, and the American Eagle Crest. Both pistols are in very fine condition. The first has more than 98% of its factory blued finish remaining. The second has about 95% of its finish remaining with some light wear on the front grip strap and a couple of tiny specks on the take down lever. Both pistols retain nearly all of the straw color on their small parts. Both have excellent mechanics and very fine bores. The first pistol has excellent grips and the second one has grips that are very fine to excellent. There are a couple of tiny dings on the right grip of the second pistol. Neither magazine is numbered. I believe one is original to the guns. The other is real, but later. It is marked Mauser. M1900 American Eagle Lugers are rare in their own right; a consecutive pair is unheard of! Stock no. 31706
