WWII GERMAN P.38 PISTOL BY SPREEWERK, 9MM
Description :
Here is an original, WWII, German P.38 Pistol manufactured by Spreewerk ("cyq" code). Developed by Walther and adopted in 1938 as a replacement for the P.08 Luger, the P.38 was Germany's standard sidearm of the Second World War. This is a mid to late war example. It is in very fine condition, but the barrel locking block does not match. The numbers are hard to read, but I'm pretty sure that they don't match the gun. All other numbers are matching. The pistol retains about 98% of its blued finish. There is a hint of wear on the exposed edges. The bore and mechanics are excellent. The brown Bakelite grips are excellent, as well, with no chips or c racks. There are tiny, faint importer marks on the back of the frame just above the grips. The P.38 remains one of the best service pistols ever made. This is a great looking example. Stock no. 31700
