Here is an original, Argentine Model 1909 Cavalry Carbine manufactured by Deutsche Waffen-und Munitionsfabriken (DWM) of Berlin. It has the 1926 modification of a lug to allow the use of the Model 1891 Bayonet. The carbine has a shorter, 21.75-inch barrel and side mounted sling swivels. It is chambered for the 7.65x53mm rimless cartridge. This carbine is in fine condition with about 85% of its factory blued finish remaining. There is significant finish wear on the magazine floor plate. The barrel band and bayonet lug strap have some finish wear as well. The butt plate has a speckled steel gray patina. The bolt is armory bright. The carbine has excellent mechanics with a matching bolt. The bore is in fine condition with strong rifling along its length. The muzzle has been armory counter-bored. The stock is in fine condition with a few small dings and scratches from use. The stock bolt has some rust that has darkened the wood around it a bit. There are a couple of small chips along the barrel channel and a small rectangular piece of wood has been removed from the handguard where it joins the receiver on the right side. The caliber is stamped on the bayonet lug strap. This is a nice M1909 Argentine carbine. Stock no. 32310
