WWI HUNGARIAN MODEL 1895 INFANTRY RIFLE, 8X50R

Description :
This is an original, Hungarian Model 1895 Infantry Rifle made at Budapest. It is a straight pull, bolt action rifle with a 29.5-inch barrel. This was the standard Infantry rifle of the Austro-Hungarian Empire in World war I. This rifle appears to be in its original chambering of 8x50R. Most of these rifles were rechambered to 8x56R. Hungarian rifles so modified were stamped on the barrel with the letter "H". This rifle is not stamped. It is in fair condition with no original finish remaining. The entire gun has a steel gray patina with a liberal sprinkling of brown. There is fine pitting present on most surfaces. The mechanics need some attention. The rifle doesn't cock when the bolt is cycled. The bore is very dark and rough, but you can see rifling along its length. the stock is fair with a heavy scattering of dings and scratches from use. There are a couple of small holes in the handguard and some cracks in the stock behind the nose cap running along the barrel channel on the right side. Everything is worn smooth from years of handling. There are tiny importer marks on the receiver. This one is a little rough, but an honest example of a WWI M1895. Stock no. 32276
