Here is an original, Winchester Model 1892 Rifle manufactured in 1902 and chambered for the .38 Winchester Center Fire (.38-40) Cartridge. The Model 1892 was the successor to the Model 1873 and offered in the same chamberings. It was smaller and more streamlined, basically a scaled down version of the M1886 action. They were very well made, highly functional, and just plain looked good. Over a million were produced between 1902 and 1941, when WWII brought production to a halt. This rifle is in very good condition. It has about 10% of its blued finish remaining with traces remaining on the receiver and in protected areas. The bolt, loading gate, and rear sight retain much of their blued finish. The remainder of the gun has a smooth, light brown patina. The rifle has excellent mechanics with a tight action. The bore is excellent, bright and shiny. This rifle has a 24-inch, full octagon barrel. The stock is very good with a scattering of small dings and scratches from use. This is a nice '92 Winchester in great mechanical condition. Stock no. 32862
