Description :

This is a J.C. Higgins Model 88 Revolver made in 1955, the first year of production, and chambered for the .22 Long Rifle cartridge. These were made by High Standard for Sears to sell under their J.C. Higgins name. The revolver is actually High Standard's Sentinel. It is a double-action, 9-shot revolver with a 6-inch barrel. It has a lightweight aluminum alloy frame and brown plastic grips with the J.C. Higgins logo. They were only made from 1955 until 1963. This revolver is in excellent, near new condition in the original box with the original paperwork. It retains nearly 100% of its factory blued and black finishes with a bit of rust on the thumb pad of the hammer. The bore, chambers, and mechanics are excellent. The grips are excellent, as well. The box is in fine condition with some scuffing of the corners. There are a few scuffs on the flat surfaces and some soiling of the lid. The original manual and safety brochure are included, both in very fine condition. You will be hard-pressed to find a better example of this 71-year-old revolver! Stock no. 32923
