COLT NEW SERVICE REVOLVER, BRITISH PROOFED, .45 LC CONVERSION

This is a Colt New Service Revolver manufactured in 1916. Originally chambered for the .455 Eley cartridge, the gun was shipped to England, probably for service in WWI. There are British acceptance markings on the gun. At some point, it made its way back to the States where it was converted to fire .45 Long Colt cartridges. This revolver is in good to very good condition. It appears to have been painted black. It may be something else, but it looks like paint. I can't say how much finish remains under the paint. The revolver has excellent mechanics. The bore and chambers are excellent, as well. The walnut grips are in fine condition with a few small dings from use. This is a revolver that has had an interesting history. Stock no. 32926
