Description :

|
This is an original, WWI, U.S. Model 1917 Trench Knife made by Landers, Frary, & Clark (L.F.&C.) in 1917. It is in its original scabbard. This type of knife actually made it to France and saw service with American troops. This knife is in fine to very fine condition. The blade retains most of its blued finish with a friction drag line on each flat of the triangular blade from the scabbard. The guard retains about 90% of its finish with some light wear from use and a little rust speckling. There is a larger rust spot on the first pyramid of the guard. The markings are clear. The walnut handle is in fine condition with a few tiny dings from use. The scabbard is in fine condition with most of the Olive paint remaining on the leather. The blued tip and throat have some fine brown speckling, and the tip is beginning to turn brown. The scabbard is marked "JEWELL 1918". These make a great addition to any WWI collection.
