Item No.: 10825 Price : $895.00
Item : WWII, ITALIAN MODEL 1941 CARCANO INFANTRY LONG RIFLE, 6.5X52MM
Description :
This is an original, WWII, Italian Model 1941 Carcano Infantry Long Rifle made at the Fabbrica d'Armi Terni (Terni Arms Factory) in 1943. It is chambered for the 6.5x52mm cartridge. Italy has adopted a short rifle in 1938, The Model 1938. Early in the war, there were accuracy concerns with the M1938 and the concept of a long infantry rifle was revived. The resulting Model 1941 Rifle was similar to the Model 1891 Carcano but about 3-inches shorter. The barrel used uniform twist rifling instead of the gain twist rifling of the Model 1891. This rifle is in very fine condition. It retains about 95% of its factory blued finish with a hint of wear on exposed edges and some rust speckling on the butt plate. The rifle has excellent mechanics and a very fine bore with strong rifling. The stock is in fine condition and numbered to the rifle. It appears to have been lightly sanded and oiled. Italian long rifles are fairly hard to come by, especially in nice condition. This is a great example, and I don't see any importer marks. Stock no. 33017
