WWII GERMAN K98K MAUSER RIFLE, 7.92X57MM, RUSSIAN CAPTURE

This is an original, WWII, German K98k Mauser Rifle manufactured by Mauser ("byf" code) in 1942. It is chambered for the 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser) cartridge. The K98k was the standard German battle rifle of the Second World War. This rifle appears to be a Russian capture. There is an "X" on the receiver ring and the swastikas under the Eagles have been defaced with a punch. That said, the rifle is blued and does not have the typical black finish of Russian captured rifles. It has importer marks and has been refinished, as the bolt is blued. The rifle has mostly matching numbers and the markings are crisp. The nose cap and bolt release have different numbers. The bolt, magazine floor plate, and trigger guard all match. The rifle has excellent mechanics and a very fine bore. The stock has been sanded and oiled. It is in fine condition. This is a good-looking K98k. Stock no. 33012
