This is an original, WWI, U.S. Model 1911 semi-automatic Pistol manufactured by Colt in 1918. Designed by John Browning, the M1911 was the standard U.S. service pistol of the First World War. It was chambered for the .45 ACP cartridge, a potent man-stopper, and continues in service to this day in a variety of incarnations. This pistol is in good to very good condition. It retains about 40% of its factory blued finish. The majority of wear is on the grip straps and left side and top of the slide. The mechanics are excellent. The bore is dark, but smooth with strong rifling along its length. The grips show a little wear, but are complete with no chips or cracks. There are a few tiny dings from use. The original two-tone magazine is very fine. This is a good, solid WWI .45 Auto. Stock no. 21447
